There will be a gathering of Friends for Paula Maurine Hammett, 76, of Monroe, LA from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM and a Celebration of Life at 6:45 PM on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Monroe with Rev. Lys Cockrell officiating.  Interment will be at 11:30 AM Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, LA.<br />

Mrs. Hammett was born on February 22, 1934 in Ardmore, OK and passed away on March 6, 2010 in Monroe, LA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one child:  Dawn Hammett and her husband:  Dick Hammett.<br />

Mrs. Hammett is survived by her son:  Derek E. Hammett and wife, Christine of Germany; granddaughters:  Misti Fritz of White Sands, NM and Amber Smith of San Angelo TX; great-grandchild:  Tyson Smith; brother: Richard Simmons and wife, Sue of Pueblo, CO; and sister:  Sara S. Farmer and husband, Jim of Monroe, LA.<br />
<br />
Pallbearers will be:  Steve Farmer, Kevin Rushing, Jim Farmer, Michael Fritz, Richard Simmons, and Rick Simmons.<br />
<br />
The family would like to give a special thanks to Louisiana Hospice caregivers and Dottie Carter.  A very special thanks to her great niece, Michelle Rushing.<br />
