Terrell Appleton Pierce Sr. (TAP), born January 11, 1915 passed away on Wednesday, March 3 at the age of 95. Preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Walker Pierce, Tap is survived by his loving daughters and spouses, Tami Pierce (Stephanie), Mickie Raborn (Mark), Helen Hennen (Dennis), and his loving son Terry Jr. as well as 9 grandchildren, Justin Joshua, James, Nicole, Rachel, Gabby, Richard, Laura, Tyler and 3 great grand children, Kaelin, Logan and Breelan.
Tap was born to a family of 12 in Union Church, Mississippi where he grew up farming. He married Lenora Walker and moved to West Monroe, LA. where he worked for Olin Kraft for 30 years. Together they raised 4 children. His retirement years were spent gardening, traveling and enjoying his family. He was always ready for a new adventure and when asked if he wanted 'to go', whether it be a short drive or to Disney World, he would perk up and say "lets go". Tap loved life and when asked if he needed anything, he would always grin and say "just a little more time".
Tap was a loving husband, father and grandfather and we will all miss him dearly. Visitation will be 6-9 pm on Friday March 5 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home on N. 7th St. in West Monroe. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday March 6th at Kilpatricks Chapel followed by interment at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe on Hwy. 80 East. Pallbearers will be grandsons and brother-in-laws.
