Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Opal Silmon, 93 of Farmerville, LA, will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Sardis Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Shreve. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in Farmerville, LA.<br />
<br />
 Mrs. Silmon was born on November 25, 1916 in Farmerville, LA., and passed away on February 26, 2010 in Ruston, LA. She was a longtime member of Sardis Baptist Church. She worked as a cafeteria worker at Farmerville Schools before retiring in 1978. She is preceded in death by her husband Clifford Silmon, son, Melvin Silmon, and grandson, Craig Grant. <br />
<br />
Survivors include her daughter, Syble Grant and husband Henry of Ruston, LA.; grandchildren, Mitchell Grant and wife Cathy of Maurice, LA; Ken Grant and wife Traci of Edmond, O.K.; Stacey Silmon and wife Liz of Quitman, LA.; Angie Idom and husband Bud of Monroe, LA.; daughter-in-law, Syble Silmon of Farmerville, LA; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.<br />
<br />
Memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church or Charity of the Donors choice.<br />
<br />
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Grant, Mitch Grant, Stacey Silmon, Bud Idom, Danny Remore, Emmett Silmon. <br />
<br />
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2010, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA.<br />
