Funeral services for Barney F. “Buzz” Harris, 71, will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 28, 2010 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of West Monroe, LA. Reverend Randy Burdeaux will officiate. Interment to follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of West Monroe, LA.<br />

Mr. Harris was born February 23, 1939 and passed away February 25, 2010 in Shreveport, LA.  He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, active member of the Masonic Lodge, and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 659.  Barney had many special friends and caregivers and was loved by all that knew him.<br />

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita Harris.<br />
<br />
Mr. Harris is survived by his son, Richard A. Harris and wife Krista; granddaughter, Jennifer Harris; grandson, PFC Christian Carroll; three brothers, Joe Harris and wife Laura, Johnny Thomas and wife Linda, and Jimmy Thomas and wife Linda; two sisters, Paula Jones and husband Andy and Dorothy Spillers and husband C. D.; and numerous nieces and nephews. <br />
<br />
Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Kvaternick, Willie Smith, Troy Lynch, Tommy Gist, Wesley Clark, and his fellow Lodge members. <br />
<br />
Visitation will be Saturday, February 27 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.<br />
