Funeral service for Mrs. Opal Virginia Doss, age 79, of Ruston will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Bro. Bobby Kranz. Interment will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.<br />
<br />
Mrs. Doss was born May 28, 1930 and passed away February 23, 2010 following a brief illness.<br />
<br />
Mrs. Doss loved her family and enjoyed music and cooking. She never met a stranger and was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest C. Doss.<br />
<br />
She is survived by her children: David Doss and wife Karen of Ruston, LA. , Richard Doss of Cullowhee, N.C, Allen Doss of Ruston, LA, Ann Tharp of Warrior, AL, Patricia Martin of Gardendale, AL and Joseph Doss and wife Deborah of Arcadia, LA; brother Wilburn Whatley; sisters: Callie McLeod, Vivian  Harbin, Josephine Parker and Edna Austin; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. <br />
<br />
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.<br />
<br />
Pallbearers will be grandsons:  Ryan Doss, Mitchell Doss, Adam Fountain, Nick Fountain, Travis Watkins, and Brandon Doss.<br />
<br />
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Doss, Lavoss McLeod, Jr., Kelly McLeod, Daniel Wyatt, Ricky Lynn Wyatt, Pete Austin, Fred Parker, Jr., and Joshua McLeod.<br />
<br />
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. <br />
